Lessons in Transit

Never As The Crow Flies

I’m sitting here in a park contemplating my move across the country. I’m grieving for what I left behind and even for what I thought I had. I think I’ve spent 30 years in a bottle that has been shaken, and it is ready to pop. More than 30 years I’ve spent making myself less so the men around me could be more. Disclaimer: No male egos were harmed during the making of this film called ‘My Life.’ I stuffed myself down repeatedly until I was very small. And now? The lid is about to blow. But is it too late? Will I get a chance to satisfy that burning inside of me to create…to love deeply…to completely be myself? That is my question as I sit here grieving trees and birds, squirrels and forests and friends. And creativity most of all.

Hence, the name of this blog. I definitely did not get to where I am with a straight line. I decided to create this blog while sitting in Lafayette Square trying to understand all the feelings bubbling up inside. And so, if you like, I’ll take you along on the journey, but it will certainly have many twists and turns because it’s never as the crow flies.

Our Guiding Philosophy

The truest path is rarely straight.

Here, we celebrate the winding roads, the unexpected detours, and the quiet moments where genuine learning begins. This is a space for authentic experiences, creative expressions, and the beauty found in life’s non-linear journey.
